Judge to lead community-based behavioral health workshop

Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti along with regional stakeholders from mental health agencies, law enforcement, and other community partners will participate in a Sequential Intercept Mapping (SIM) workshop focused on a collaborative, community-based approach to improving responses for justice-involved individuals who have behavioral health needs.

The program will be conducted Tuesday and Wednesday, June 16-17, at the Macomb Community College - South Campus K Building - The John Lewis Center, 14500 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren

This two-day workshop, which is supported by the National Center for State Courts, will bring together regional decision-makers to assess current practices, identify gaps, and develop a coordinated action plan that supports treatment and reduces recidivism.

Sequential Intercept Mapping is a conceptual model used to inform community-based responses to the involvement of people with mental and substance use disorders in contact with the criminal justice system.
