The American Bar Association Equity Summit 2026, which highlights innovative approaches and practical strategies to remove barriers and expand opportunity in the legal profession and justice system, will be held virtually June 23-24.
“Diversity does not weaken our profession, it strengthens it,” said ABA President Michelle A. Behnke, who will deliver opening remarks at the summit. “It broadens understanding, strengthens public trust and helps ensure the law serves all people fairly and fully.
“The ABA remains steadfastly committed to its goal of advancing diversity in the profession. But talking about commitment is not enough,” Behnke said. “The Equity Summit is a step towards action and education to move that goal forward. The ABA will continue to speak clearly, act often and stand firmly for a profession that reflects the principles of fairness, inclusion and equal justice.”
Titled?“The Innovation Advantage: Leveraging Diversity, Equity & Inclusion,” the Equity Summit is hosted by the ABA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Center in coordination with the DEI Advisory Council.

• “Disparate-Impact Liability: An Old Innovation that Remains Advantageous”
