City to Honor Klunder for 25 Years as Manager

The city of Zeeland will hold a celebration honoring Tim Klunder’s 25 years as city manager next week.

The open house-style celebration will take place next Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Colonial Clock Building, 201 W. Washington Ave. The event will include special remarks at 4 p.m.

“As we celebrate Tim’s remarkable 25 years of service, we recognize that this is a particularly meaningful time to gather together in appreciation and support,” the city said in a posting on its website.

Klunder was hired by the City Council on Nov. 7, 2001, and took over the position in January 2002. He came to Zeeland from the city of Algonac, located on the St. Clair River about 50 miles northeast of Detroit, where he had been city manager. He also had prior experience as city manager in Scottville.
