Michigan man sentenced for child porn distribution

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Richard Call, 32, of Warren, MI, was sentenced after pleading guilty in March 2026, to three counts of distributing child sexually abusive material.

On Tuesday, June 23, the minimum sentencing guidelines were argued prior to sentencing. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Justin Pollard successfully argued that the minimum sentence should be increased from ten to 23 months to 19-38 months. Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti sentenced Call to serve 27 months to seven years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. Call must register as a Tier 2 sex offender for 25 years and must register his personal and address information in person twice a year. He is also required to register under Wyatt’s law, which is a database of individuals who are convicted of criminal offenses related to children.

“Distributing child sexually abusive material is active participation in the ongoing exploitation of children. The harm continues each time it is viewed or shared, sustaining a demand that encourages further victimization. My office continues to pursue these cases aggressively to disrupt distribution and help break a cycle of severe harm,” stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

In November 2024, a tip from the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce started an investigation into Call. On June 4, 2025, Michigan State Police investigators determined that Call used his computer to share child sexually abusive material.
