Warren man arraigned on 14 felonies related to aggravated child sexual abuse activity and material

Macomb County authorities have announced that Tony Anthony Winston, 26, of Warren, has been arraigned on multiple felony charges stemming from two tips submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children last month.

Following an investigation by the Warren Police Department, in partnership with the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, it is alleged that investigators recovered numerous files of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) from Winston's cellular phone.

On Tuesday, Winston was arraigned before visiting Judge Edward Servitto of the 37th District Court in Warren on the following charges:

ONE COUNT: Child Sexually Abuse Activity – Aggravated, a felony punishable by up to 25 Years

ONE COUNT: Computers - Using To Commit A Crime – Maximum Imprisonment Of 20 Years Or More Or Life, a 20-year felony

ONE COUNT: Child Sexual Abuse Activity - Aggravated Distributing or Promoting, a 15-year felony

FIVE COUNTS: Child Sexual Abuse Material - Aggravated Possession, a 10-year felony

SIX COUNTS: Computers - Using To Commit A Crime – Maximum Imprisonment Of 10 Years Or More But Less Than 20 Years, a 10-year felony.

Servitto set Winston’s bond at $100,000 cash/surety only. As a condition of bond, Winston is prohibited from using the internet or any device capable of accessing the internet.

He is also ordered to have no contact with minors and may not enter locations where minors commonly congregate.

If Winston posts bond, he must wear a GPS tether and remain on home confinement, except for approved activities including employment and court appearances.

Winston is scheduled to appear at a probable cause conference before Judge Michael Chupa at the 37th District Court on Aug.11.
