Beginning this week, the Sixth Circuit and Oakland County Probate and District Courts (Oakland County Courts) are pleased to announce the launch of a new, modern Jury Management System, designed to make jury service more convenient, efficient, and accessible for Oakland County residents.
The new system represents the most significant modernization of Oakland County’s jury administration process in years, replacing a largely paper-based process with a secure, digital platform that improves communication, streamlines jury administration, and enhances the overall juror experience.
As part of this transition, citizens summoned for jury service will notice an important change: jury summonses will now be mailed as postcards rather than the traditional legal-sized paper summons that residents have been accustomed to receiving. Summoned jurors should be aware of this new format and watch for the postcard-sized jury summons in their U.S. mail. To protect juror privacy, the postcard will not contain any confidential or personal information. Instead, it will provide instructions for accessing the secure Jury
Management System, where jurors can safely review their summons information and complete the required steps online.
The new Jury Management System provides jurors with a streamlined, user-friendly experience from the moment they receive their summons. Designed with mobile accessibility in mind, the system is optimized for smartphones and other mobile devices, allowing jurors to complete many aspects of the jury process quickly and conveniently from virtually anywhere.
Through the new system, summoned jurors can:
• Respond to their jury summons online using a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
• Securely upload supporting documentation directly from their mobile device.
• Receive important communications through email and text message.
• Access an automated phone system for jury information and assistance.
• Utilize convenient self-service features that allow them to manage their jury service when it best fits their schedule and lifestyle.
