Pictured is the Children’s Room at Lawrence Memorial District Library after improvements were made recently. New carpeting, shelving units, furniture, converting existing lighting to non-ballist LED lighting and a new layout were enhancements performed August 3-9. The new shelving units in the middle of the room are on wheels, allowing staff to move them if more room is needed for a program or event.

A back to school benefit party and movie in the park event at Lawrence Memorial District Library will take place August 22.
The back to school benefit, scheduled for 3-7 p.m., will feature a bounce house, obstacle course, dunk tank, corn hole, face painting, a clown tying balloons for kids and maybe more.
All donations help provide school supplies, backpacks, and other essentials for local kids.
Admission is free and donations are encouraged. Everyone is welcome.
The August 22 Movie in the Park (weather permitting) will start at dusk.
This event is also free to all.
The PG movie is “FlyAway Home.”
Free face painting by Miss Sally will begin at approximately 8 p.m. Climax Market will have a booth selling snacks.
