The First Presbyterian Church in Homer is pretty serious about their cornhole and even more serious about their fundraising, so why not put the two together to create a big event capable of raising some serious money for a very worthy cause?
On Sept. 12, the First Presbyterian Church will hold a cornhole tournament to benefit the United Way as well as the victims of the Union City tornadoes.
The First Presbyterian Church is getting pretty intense when it comes to their cornhole benefit, even bringing in members of the American Cornhole Organization to run the cornhole tournament.
Food will be available on site; additionally, the church encourages spectators or competitors to bring their lawn chairs to fill up the First Presbyterian lawn for the tournament.
The church is also still in search of teams for the tournament. To apply, go to the official smartphone app known as “Scoreholio” and search “Union City Tornado Relief Fundraiser”. The entry fee is $20 per person and there is plenty of room for teams to enter.

The church will have food available for purchase, along with a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Adult beverages will be allowed on the premises but MUST be in a non-see-through container. If you do not comply, you will be asked to put them away.
This tournament will be a blind draw with four rounders that lead into a double elimination play.
First place winners receive a $150 gift card each; second place wins a $100 gift card each; and third place takes home a $50 gift card each.
Participants must bring their own phone with the Scoreholio App working to enter and keep score during the games.
