There will be a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at the Wings Event Center September 11 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

The last 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Wings Event Center was 2021, however a similar 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb had been held at Vicksburg High School since 2022. 

The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on September 11, 2001. Each participant pays tribute to an FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. 

Firefighters and supporters who participate in the stair climb walk up and down 2,200 steps, the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Local firefighters are expected to participate in this event.

There will also be an opportunity to donate blood at the Wings Event Center September 11 from 7 to 11 a.m.
