The Criminal Defense Association of Michigan will present a “Sentencing Case Law: Updates and Guidelines” on Friday, September 18, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Robert A. Verkuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Rd. in Clinton Township.
Speaking at the training will be Anne Yantus of Michigan Sentencing PLLC. Yantus is a sentencing consultant working with attorneys to promote more favorable sentencing outcomes. She spent many years handling plea and sentencing appeals with the State Appellate Defender Office. Following her time with SADO, Yantus taught a criminal sentencing course at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and subsequently continued to write and speak on felony sentencing law while serving as pro bono counsel with Bodman PLC.
