Thirty criminal sexual conduct charges filed against Harrison Township man following ongoing investigation

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has announced that 30 criminal sexual conduct charges have been filed against Robert Fitz, 48, of Harrison Township following an ongoing investigation by the sheriff’s office.

The investigation began in connection with a September 2025 arson case.

During a forensic examination of Fitz’s cellular phone, investigators allegedly identified evidence of Child Sexually Abusive Activity (CSAA). Fitz was subsequently charged with 20 counts related to the initial discovery and was arraigned on those charges in June.

As detectives continued their investigation, additional evidence was identified concerning his alleged sexual abuse of minor children.

Last week, Fitz was arraigned before Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr. of the 41-B District Court in Clinton Township on the following charges:

Fourteen counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree (Person Under 13, Defendant 17 Years of Age or Older), a felony punishable by life or any term of years

Thirteen counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Second Degree (Person Under 13, Defendant 17 Years of Age or Older), a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison

Habitual Offender – Second Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor.

Fitz was also arraigned on an additional set of charges:

Three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Second Degree (Person Under 13, Defendant 17 Years of Age or Older), a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison

Habitual Offender – Second Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor.

Femminineo set bond at $500,000 cash or surety only on the case involving 27 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct and $250,000 cash or surety only on the separate case involving three additional counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct.

Fitz remains lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for September 28.
