Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 55-year-old Jerome Younger, of Roseville, Michigan, was sentenced after pleading No Contest in August 2026 to a Criminal Sexual Conduct charge related to an assault upon a minor in October 2025. Younger served as the assistant principal of the Edward ‘Duke’ Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art at Beckham Academy in Detroit.

On Wednesday, September 30, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Joseph Toia sentenced Younger on one count of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Relationship) to 42-250 months in the Michigan Department of Corrections with credit for 55 days served. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 17. Younger is subject to Tier III lifetime Sex Offender registration, lifetime electronic monitoring, Wyatt’s law registration and HIV testing.

“I commend the victim for having the bravery to come forward. Such action takes great courage. My office will continue to fight for victims and pursue justice on their behalf,” said Lucido.
