MMA Hosts Henry’s Miniatures
November 19-March 7
The Muskegon Museum of Art will host “Henry’s Miniatures: Amalienburg” from November 19 through March 7, 2027.
Henry Matthews began his miniature journey more than 30 years ago, inspired by his daughter’s dollhouse made by her grandfather.
Matthews found its miniature objects compelling and began collecting his own, displaying them throughout his family home.
Matthews designed buildings to house the miniatures, resulting in a dollhouse that is roughly four feet wide, seven feet long, and more than eleven feet tall!
The entire complex is named “Amalienburg” after the similarly named royal hunting lodge in Munich, Germany, and in honor of his daughter.
