Meet the Judges

The New Lawyers Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association
hosted its “Meet the Judges” event on Thursday, April 11, at Red Run
Golf Club in Royal Oak. Judges from the Oakland County district,
probate, and circuit courts, along with judges from the Michigan Court
of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and U.S.
District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, were invited to this
annual event.

Walled Lake garage contractor sentenced to 40-240 months for scamming customers
April 25, 2024On Tuesday, Artemio “Temo” Sessions, 56, of Walled Lake, was sentenced by Judge Cheryl Matthews in the 6th Circuit Court in Oakland County to 40-240 months’ incarceration, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Sessions was charged in April of 2021 for repeatedly scamming homeowners out of tens of thousands of dollars under the guise of eventually building for them garages, and in February he was convicted by a jury of False Pretenses and Conducting a Criminal Enterprise.

Association endorses Court of Appeals candidate for District 2
April 25, 2024The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) Executive Board has officially endorsed attorney Randy Wallace for the Michigan Court of Appeals, District 2. Wallace is running for an open seat and as of April 18, is the first candidate to file. MAJ President Jennifer McManus made the announcement.
