Ward to present webinar on regulatory compliance of information management

Dawn Garcia Ward, senior counsel with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, will present a webinar on regulatory compliance of information management on Aug. 4 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

The webinar, presented by the Knowledge Group, will focus on the importance of data management practices and standards, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and internal policies and steps to mitigate the trauma of data breach. It is applicable to all industries and organizations in which compliance with information management regulations is important. Topics include: document retention and destruction polices, changes and recent enforcement, information security, costs, and strategies for data life cycle management.

Ward is co-chair of the firm’s Data Solutions Practice Group, practicing in the Holland office. She concentrates her practice in business law and litigation with an emphasis on contracts, product liability, records management systems and related areas.

Muth joins Miller Johnson Litigation Section

Miller Johnson is pleased to welcome Jeffrey G. Muth as a Member in the Grand Rapids office.  He will continue his complex commercial litigation and corporate counseling practice.  Muth’s experience extends also to alternate dispute resolution including arbitration and mediation.

Muth came to Miller Johnson from another firm in Grand Rapids.  He earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. from Kalamazoo College. He is listed in “Best Lawyers in America” for Commercial Litigation and Michigan Super Lawyers in Business Litigation and Insurance Coverage.

Muth is on the State Bar Character and Fitness Committee and has served on the Grand Rapids Bar Judicial Review Committee. He is on the faculty and Vice President of the Steering Committee for the Hillman Advocacy program. Muth is also the immediate Past-President of the Board of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company and a member of the Board for Broadway Grand Rapids.
