Elisabeth Von Eitzen joins the board of YWCA Kalamazoo
Elisabeth M. Von Eitzen, a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP who concentrates her practice in restructuring matters, bankruptcy proceedings and creditors’ rights litigation, has been appointed to a three-year term on the YWCA Kalamazoo board of directors. She will also serve on the Human Resources Committee.
A cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School, Von Eitzen earned her undergrad degree, magna cum laude, from Hope College. A ‘Rising Star’ with Michigan Super Lawyers magazine, she is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, Kalamazoo Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and State Bar of Michigan.
Warner introduces a new $20,000 law scholarship
Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has introduced a new $20,000 Law Scholarship – Embracing Diversity in Our Communities.
Offered annually, the scholarship will be awarded to a rising second-year law student in good standing from a historically marginalized community. Students are asked to share a written personal statement, short video introduction, undergraduate and law school transcripts and a current resume for consideration.
Applications are being accepted through June 30, with the winner being notified by July 11. Eligible applicants will be offered a summer associate position in one of Warner’s nine offices throughout Michigan in 2023.
Applicants may identify by race, as LGBTQIA+ or with a disability. Applications will be reviewed by members of the firm’s Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Action Committee and Summer Associate Committee. The $20,000 scholarship will be divided into four payments of $5,000 over four consecutive semesters.
To date, Warner has contributed more than $250,000 to a number of initiatives, including scholarships for law students, paralegals and legal secretaries, as well as study courses to prepare for law school entrance exams.
