Three are elected to membership at Miller Johnson

Kevin D. Battle, Jr., Loïc M. Dimithe, and Grant E. Schertzing have been elected to membership at Miller Johnson, where they previously were associates.

Battle counsels clients on employment policies and practices, immigration matters, and litigation strategy. His practice focuses on employment based and business related immigration matters, including representing employers with H-1B visas for specialty occupations, TN visas for professionals, E visas based on U.S. Treaties and Trade Agreements, L-1 visas for intra-company transfers of managers and specialized knowledge workers, and employment based permanent resident filings. He is co-chair of Miller Johnson’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and was honored as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” Class of 2021 in Michigan by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. He is on the Board of Directors for Justice for Our Neighbors and Kent Schools Services Network. 

Dimithe focuses his corporate practice on representing clients in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), finance and commercial banking matters. He has experience in buy-side and sell-side transactions involving private equity investments, manufacturing, technology, health care, family owned businesses and closely held companies. Dimithe is active with the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), in which he is a member of ACG’s Diversity Committee, Young Professionals Committee and the Western Michigan Annual ACG Cup Committee. 

Schertzing works in commercial real estate and environmental law. He helps his clients buy, sell, lease, and develop real property. When that property has environmental challenges, he helps his clients find a solution. He supports clients in real estate deals and projects, including sellers and buyers, landlords and tenants, developers and property owners, brokers, and design professionals. Schertzing serves on the Political Affairs and Government Committee of the Commercial Alliance of Realtors of West Michigan.

Von Eitzen joins board of Housing Resources  

Elisabeth M. Von Eitzen, a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Housing Resources, Inc. board of directors. Established in 1982, HRI provides housing solutions for individuals and families during a housing crisis.  

Von Eitzen concentrates her practice in restructuring matters, bankruptcy proceedings and creditors’ rights litigation.
