James named shareholder at Wheeler Upham
Daniel J. James has become a shareholder at Wheeler Upham P.C., effective Jan. 1, 2023.
James, who has been with Wheeler Upham since 2018, has extensive experience in insurance coverage, defense litigation, and personal injury defense litigation. He represents clients in insurance coverage disputes, both property and liability, arising under a wide variety of policies, including CGL, auto, homeowner, renter, landlord, and professional liability. He has significant experience with claims under the Michigan auto no-fault statute. His general civil practice includes business, commercial, construction, employment, insurance, personal injury, probate, and real estate litigation.
James is a graduate of Hope College and earned his law degree at Wayne State University Law School.
Butzel elects three Shareholders in Grand Rapids office
Butzel has elected Lee T. Silver, Michael L. Gutierrez and Daniel J. Hatch, all attorneys in the Grand Rapids office, to become shareholders.
Silver is an experienced trial lawyer with a long record of obtaining outstanding results for his clients. He has successfully handled complex commercial litigation cases over the past 38 years in state and federal courts throughout Michigan and many other states.
Gutierrez handles complex litigation matters and disputes for businesses and individuals throughout Michigan and nationally. He advises business owners and officers in litigation arising out of equity interest valuation and corporate governance disputes.
Hatch practices in the areas of construction law, business law, tax law, insurance recovery and advisory, and commercial litigation. He is experienced in civil litigation representing owners, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers.
He also specializes in litigation and appeals in state and federal courts.
