Firm hosts ABA Woman Advocate Committee's Networking gathering
Butzel Long's Women's Leadership Committee is the Michigan host for the American Bar Association's (ABA) Woman Advocate Committee's Regional Networking brown bag lunch program at noon on Thursday, July 18, at the firm's offices in Ann Arbor, Bloomfield Hills, and Detroit. All female attorneys are invited to attend the program to discuss gender issues in the profession.
The program will feature a special telephonic address from Nan E. Joesten, an executive coach and consultant and the founder of Rapid Evolution LLC, a consulting firm devoted to accelerating professional development. The topic for her presentation is titled, "Don't Just Survive, Thrive!--Five Steps for Making Your Law Practice a Place Where You Thrive."
During the program, participants will learn career development tips including: how to create your own board of directors, the role of meaningful mentoring, and the easiest thing you can do to improve the likelihood that you will achieve your career goals.
Before starting Rapid Evolution, Joesten was a partner in the intellectual property group at San Francisco's Farella, Braun + Partners LLP. She also is a leader in the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, and previously co-chaired the Section's Annual Meeting and the Woman Advocate Committee.
"The ABA Regional Networking events are excellent opportunities for women attorneys to gather for professional development and networking," said attorney Robin Luce Herrmann, a member of Butzel Long's Women's Leadership Committee.
The program is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. However, reservations are required and can be emailed to the following Butzel Long host attorneys:
--Jennifer Dukarski (dukarski@butzel.com), 301 East Liberty St., Suite 500, Ann Arbor.
--Angela Emmerling Boufford (boufford@butzel), Stoneridge West Bldg., 41000 Woodward Ave., Bloomfield Hills.
