Unadjusted jobless rate off 0.4 points in Michigan
LANSING (AP) -- Michigan says the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate has dropped 0.4 percentage points since it last reported on its regional labor markets.
The Department of Technology, Management & Budget released a report Tuesday for September and October. The federal government's partial shutdown delayed release of the September figures.
The report says Michigan's jobless rate was 8.3 percent in October, unchanged from September but down from 8.7 percent in August.
The department says October's unemployment rates ranged from a low of 6 percent in the Ann Arbor region to a high of 10.8 percent in the northeastern Lower Peninsula. It says the rate was 9 percent in the populous Detroit area. That's down from 9.4 percent in September and 9.8 percent in August.
