The Oakland County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for two (2) citizens to serve on the Oakland County Parks & Recreation Commission and one (1) citizen to serve on the Oakland County Building Authority. Interested individuals will be applying for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2018. The deadline to apply is Nov. 14, 2017. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the General Government Committee, which will recommend candidates to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
The Parks & Recreation Commission is responsible for preserving park land and creating recreational, leisure and learning experiences for Oakland County residents. Members selected to serve on the Parks & Recreation Commission will attend meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month during regular business hours.
The Building Authority was established to finance the construction of local projects through the issuance of limited tax general obligation bonds by the Building Authority. Members selected to serve on the Building Authority will attend meetings on the second Wednesday of each month during regular business hours.
