Bodman attorney elected section chair
Edwin J. Lukas, a member of Bodman PLC practicing in the firm's Detroit office, was elected chair of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan on September 13.
The Business Law Section was formed in 1965 and has over 3,200 members, making it the second largest elective section of the State Bar of Michigan. The Business Law Section offers its members programs and seminars, including the Business Law Institute and Business Boot Camp. The group also publishes the Michigan Business Law Journal on a quarterly basis and reviews and promotes improvements to business legislation and regulations in Michigan. The section is funded and operated entirely by its members.
Lukas is a member of Bodman's Business Practice Group. He focuses his practice in corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions and other complex business matters. He is listed in Michigan Super Lawyers & Rising Stars 2011 under Business/Corporate. Lukas also serves on the Business Law Section Council and he served previously as the Section's treasurer, secretary, and vice-chair.
