Barristers Bowl to be a blast Oct. 20

By Jo Mathis Legal News If the event is as fun as its name, The Pins-N-Pinstripes Barristers Bowl will provide laughs to (ahem) spare. Sponsored by the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Barristers, the bowling party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 at Garden Bowl, 4140 Woodward Ave. "The Barristers Bowl will be a great opportunity for young metro Detroit lawyers to network in a fun, relaxed setting while showing off some of their lesser known talents," said Allyson Miller, the DMBA Barristers Social Committee Chair. While the primary goal of the evening is to have fun, the profits will support Barristers community service and young attorney activities throughout the year, said DMBA Executive Director Mitzy Sharp Futro. The event is open to DMBA Barristers and other metro Detroit attorneys, and includes bowling, networking, food and drinks. Registration is $35 per person ($40 after Oct. 18) and includes three hours of bowling, rental shoes, pizza, salad, soda, draft beer and house wine. Other upcoming events of the DMBA include a "Boating with the Bench" Criminal Procedure Section networking event on Nov. 2 at Sindbad's at the River; and a Nov. 10 Labor & Employment Section networking event at Cliff Bell's.
