Nevada Judge's son pleads guilty to stealing gun
FALLON, Nev. (AP) -- A judge's son previously convicted of charges involving sex with an intoxicated girl has pleaded guilty to stealing his father's shotgun and pawning it for money.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Jeffrey Michael Lister, 21, entered his plea Tuesday to buying, possessing or withholding a stolen firearm, a felony. He could face one to 10 years in prison when sentenced Dec. 19 by Churchill District Judge William Rogers.
Fallon authorities said Municipal Court Judge Michael Lister had reported to local police that his shotgun had been stolen, and said he believed his son was responsible.
Jeffrey Lister was sentenced to a year in jail in 2009 after pleading no contest to conspiracy to commit an obscene, indecent or immoral act. The charge related to Lister having sex with a grossly intoxicated 15-year-old girl during a teen party hosted by former Fallon high school softball coach Tami Peel in January 2008.
Lister was 18 at the time.
