MSU law college helps entrepreneurs with rights
HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan State University has launched a program to help entrepreneurs deal with intellectual property issues.
The free legal clinics are a partnership of Michigan State's College of Law and the university's Bioeconomy Institute.
Law professor Adam Candeub is overseeing the initiative.
He says that often, a new business's "most valuable asset is simply the idea for a new technology."
Candeub says organizers "want to help Michigan's emerging high-tech company leaders understand their options."
The university says there are several opportunities for entrepreneurs to participate in the clinics.
They can attend sessions Jan. 28 session at the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce and Jan. 30 at the MSU Bioeconomy Institute in Holland. There also are sessions available by appointment at the College of Law Legal Clinic.
