Lawyers sought to serve as mentors to law students from China

The Macomb Cultural & Economic Partnership is again hosting law students from the People’s Republic of China and is seeking lawyers to volunteer as mentors.

Ed Bruley, MCEP secretary, said the  program will last three months and will focus on the county, state and federal court systems.

Bruley said lawyers are needed to mentor one student each during November and December.

The purpose of the mentorship, he said,  is to give the student a good understanding of the daily life of the mentor’s legal practice. This can be done in a way that the mentor finds is best for his or her situation, he said.
