Area attorney reappointed to Board of Law Examiners


Brittany Schultz of Birmingham has been reappointed to the Board of Law Examiners by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Schultz is a current in-house counsel for Ford Motor Co., where she represents Ford in a variety of civil litigation and commercial matters. Additionally, she serves as a member of the Michigan Supreme Court Justice for All Commission.

Schultz received a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. She is reappointed to represent the nominee of the Michigan Supreme Court for a term commencing July 1, 2024, and expiring June 30, 2029.  

The Board of Law Examiners is responsible for investigating and examining all persons who initially apply for admission to the Michigan bar. The Board may adopt suitable regulations, subject to approval by the Supreme Court, concerning the performance of its functions and duties.

Law school hosts Happy Hour in Ferndale Aug. 15


Wayne State University Law School will host a Happy Hour at Ferndale Project on Tuesday, August 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Wayne Law alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate the summer with a happy hour at the Ferndale Project located at 567 Livernois in Ferndale.

‘Evolving Legal Workspace’ examined at ALA event June 6


The Association of Legal Administrators, Metropolitan Detroit Chapter, will host a member engagement night with a look at the “Evolving Legal Workspace” on Thursday, June 6, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at SmithGroup Detroit (inside the Guardian Building), 500 Griswold, Ste. #1700, in Detroit.

Steelcase and SmithGroup will guide guests through how legal workspaces have evolved and the trends they see going forward.
