‘Introduction to Non-Fatal Strangulation Prosecution’ offered online

The Prosecuting Attorney Association of Michigan’s Violence Against Women Project will present the online training “Introduction to Non-Fatal Strangulation Prosecution” on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. via Zoom.

Women who have been strangled by an intimate partner are 10 times more likely to be killed by that offender than when a different form of intimate partner violence (IPV) has been inflicted.

Anyone new to prosecuting IPV cases or who wishes to learn more about non-fatal strangulation cases can join PAAM's Violence Against Women Project training attorney Dana Deasy for a webinar discussing non-fatal strangulation.  This training is for prosecutors. Law enforcement is welcome to join.

To register for the free training, visit https://michiganprosecutor.org and click on “Training Calendar.”

Registration deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 1 :30 p.m.  Anyone with questions regarding registration should contact Katlyn Bolan at Bolank4@michigan.gov.
