Gilman Award presented
The Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association, along with the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, recently hosted the “2025 Leonard R. Gilman Award Luncheon” at the Atheneum Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Detroit. Among those attending the luncheon were (left to right) U.S. District Court Judge Susan DeClerq; Bill Swor; U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Kimberly Altman; EDMBA/FBA Immediate Past President George Donnini; U.S. District Court Judges Laurie Michelson and Robert White; EDMBA/FBA President Elect Charissa Potts; U.S. District Court Judge Paul Borman; 2025 Gilman Award winner John Neal; Mark Chutkow; U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Stephanie Dawkins Davis; U.S. District Court Judge Gershwin Drain; U.S. District Court Chief Judge Sean Cox; U.S. District Court Judge Mark Goldsmith; and U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Lisa Gretchko. Gilman Award winner Neal is an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan, a position he has held since 2011. Since October 2023, he has served as the chief of the Office’s Public Corruption & Civil Rights Unit. From July 2014 through October 2023, Neal was the chief of the White Collar Crime Unit.
