Culinary Challenge

The winning Grilled by the Hour chefs included (l-r) Elizabeth Tyler, Kathryn Milz, Paulina Kennedy, Michelle Kolkmeyer, Erica Sarver, Cece Huddleston, Abigail Witten, Jayson Law, Chrissy Hagen, and Donovan Asmar.

Grilling for Good returned for the 16th Annual Bench Bar Culinary Challenge which took place Tuesday, June 24, at the home of retired Judge Lisa Gliecher in Pleasant Ridge.

This annual charitable event is one of a kind in metro Detroit featuring a friendly cook-off between teams from the bench and bar.  Attendees purchased voting tickets at the event to determine the winners.

The lawyers of Grilled By the Hour won this year’s Challenge over the judges of Grilled From the Bench. The best overall dish, however, went to Wayne County Circuit Court Judges Nicole Castka and Regina Triplett for their vegan stuffed pepper.

The event raised funds to benefit Alternatives For Girls and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation’s scholarship fund.

Members of Grilled from the Bench included (l-r) Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Anthony Servitto, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Anica Letica, retired Judge Edward Servitto, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Adrienne Nicole Young, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Nicole Castka, and Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Michael Servitto.
