Michigan Supreme Court seeks applicants for board, commission
The deadline to apply for both positions is July 23.

The Board of Commissioners includes 20 elected members and five members appointed by the Court. The current vacancy for one appointed commissioner has a three-year term. Applicants must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
To apply, email a resume or CV (in Word or PDF format) and a completed personal background investigation consent form to jobapps@courts.mi.gov with “State Bar Commissioner” in the subject line. The resume must include contact information and a P number. In the body of the email, answer the following three questions in lieu of a cover letter:
1. Have you previously served on the Board? If so, when?
2. What experience qualifies you for this role?
3. Why do you want to be appointed?
—Attorney Grievance Commission (AGC)
The AGC is the investigative and prosecutorial arm of the Michigan Supreme Court for attorney misconduct cases. It consists of six attorneys and three laypersons. Two vacancies are open: one for an attorney and one for a layperson. Terms begin October 1, 2025, and end September 30, 2028. Members may serve no more than two full three-year terms.
• Attorney applicants must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be a member of the State Bar of Michigan.
• Layperson applicants are not required to have specific educational credentials.
To apply, send a resume or CV and the personal background investigation consent form to jobapps@courts.mi.gov. Use “AGC Attorney Member” or “AGC Layperson Member” in the subject line. Attorney resumes must include a P number. In the
body of the email, include responses to the following:
1. Please identify the vacancy for which you are applying.
2. Have you previously served on the AGC? If so, when?
3. What experience qualifies you for this appointment?
4. Why do you want to be appointed to the AGC?
