Law professor to discuss attorney disciplinary process in Michigan
The Oakland County Bar Association will present a professional development seminar titles “Ethics I: Understanding the Attorney Disciplinary Process in Michigan” online Thursday, August 21, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
This virtual seminar offers a concise and informative overview of how attorney discipline is administered in the state including a primer on the roles and responsibilities of the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission and the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board. It will also outline the steps involved in the disciplinary process and highlight key procedural considerations for attorneys. Ideal for legal professionals seeking to better understand the system, the session aims to promote ethical practice and awareness of professional responsibility requirements in Michigan. Speaking at the program will be Cooley Law School Professor Martha D. Moore.
Cost for the program is $35 for OCBA?members; $35 for OCBA?new lawyers and paralegals; $25 for committee members; and $45 for non-members.

ACC-MI to host pickleball tourney
The Association of Corporate Counsel, Michigan Chapter, will conduct its Inaugural Pickleball Tournament on Thursday, August 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Paddle + Par, 31535 Southfield Road in Beverly Hills.
Whether an experienced player or new to the sport, this event is open to all skill levels. Participants will be able to connect with fellow ACC-MI members, in-house counsel guests, and partners in a relaxed and engaging setting. Hors d’oeuvres and open bar will be available.
Cost for the Pickleball Tournament is $25.
