U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta of the District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C., will participate in a fireside chat moderated by Renata B. Hesse of Washington-based Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Appointed to the U.S. district court in 2014, Mehta has presided over cases related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol and the Google antitrust case in September 2023.
In August 2024, he ruled that Google violated antitrust laws by establishing a monopoly on internet search. His prior work at Zuckerman Spaeder focused on white-collar criminal defense, complex business disputes and appellate advocacy.
Linsey McCallum, deputy director-general, antitrust and regulation of digital platforms, DG Competition, Brussels, will speak at a second fireside chat, co-moderated by Eyitayo “Tee” St. Matthew-Daniel of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, New York, and Sven B.
