HBAM plans Summer Networking Mixer


Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan will host a Summer Networking Mixer with the Hispanic National Bar Association Region IX on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vinyl Society in Detroit.

The Hispanic National Bar Association is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of more than 78,000 Hispanic attorneys, 18,000 law students, and thousands of other legal professionals, including judges, law professors, and legal assistants.

Region IX includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Public input sought  for long-term
judicial system strategy


The Michigan Supreme Court is seeking public comments regarding development of the Michigan Judicial Council 2023-26 Strategic Plan.  

An online forum will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. via Zoom.

 Interested individuals must register to reserve a spot on the agenda or provide written comments using the public form at https://bit.ly/471YKpj.

The deadline to register is September 15 at 5 p.m.  

The council makes recommendations to the court on matters pertinent to the administration of justice, including development of a strategic plan for the Michigan judicial branch and suggestions for proposals that would enhance the work of the courts. 

The 2022-25 Strategic Agenda is set to expire at the end of this year, and the MJC is currently seeking public feedback as it works to develop its next three-year plan.
