UDM?Law to present Constitution Day Program Sept. 11


The University of Detroit Mercy Law School of Law will conduct its 2025 Constitution Day Program on Thursday, September 11, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 226 on campus, 651 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit.

This year’s program will feature Nathan Goetting, author of “The Supreme Court’s Actual Innocence Problem: How the Supreme Court of the United States Has Failed to Reduce Wrongful Convictions.”

In recognition of Constitution Day, Goetting analyzes recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings in all of the areas of constitutional criminal procedure, which wrongful convictions scholars generally agree are most flawed in ways that lead to wrongful convictions.

Creditors Bar hosts golf outing Sept. 29


The Michigan Creditors Bar Association will host its 2025 MCBA Golf Outing featuring lunch, golf, cocktail hour, and dinner on Monday, September 29, at at the R & S Sharf 
Golf Course at Oakland University's Golf Center, 492 Golf View Lane, Rochester (Adams Road entrance south of Walton Blvd.)

The outing follows the schedule of:

• 10 a.m. - Registration and Driving Range Open

• 11 a.m. - BBQ Lunch

• Noon - Shotgun Start

• 5 p.m. - Social/ Cocktail Hour

• 5:30  p.m. - Strolling Dinner

ACC to present ‘Financial Literacy for In-House Counsel’ Sept. 26
The Association of Corporate Counsel, Michigan Chapter, will host “Mini-MBA: Financial Literacy for In-House Counsel” on Thursday, September 25, from 4;30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bodman PLC, 1901 Saint Antoine Street, Suite 6, in Detroit. 
Members and guests will gather for a relaxed and informative session with Kevin English, managing partner at Lark Advisors LLC.  
English will break down key financial concepts and offer practical tips on financial literacy, all tailored for in-house counsel.
Drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and networking will follow the presentation.
