‘Path to Resilient Courts’ focus of NCSC webinar

The National Center for State Courts will present a webinar on “Embracing Failure: Charting a Path to Resilient Courts” Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Courts often face obstacles when attempting new initiatives and disruptions in court operations.

The reason may be outside the control of the courts, or it may be that the court could have affected the outcome. Court leaders can use these obstacles or even failures to build resilience and promote an environment where such disappointments serve as learning experiences and do not deter future court efforts.

This webinar will explore how setbacks can serve as powerful learning tools within the court system. This session will also highlight the importance of fostering a culture that embraces reflection, adaptation, and growth to build more resilient and responsive courts.

Speaking at the webinar will be:

• Gregory Brooks, deputy director of IT applications, South Carolina Judicial Branch

• Karama Herrington, state court administrator, South Carolina Judicial Branch

• Chief Judge Shawn Crane, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Florida

• Jennifer Parker, trial court administrator, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Florida

• Moderator DeShield Greene, senior court management consultant, NCSC
