Prosecutor to be honored at CARE Night Gala?Oct. 17
CARE House of Oakland County will honor Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald during its 2025 CARE Night Gala on Friday, October 17, from 6 to 11 p.m. at The Treasury, 30 N. Saginaw St. in Pontiac.
The CARE Night Gala generates critical support for programs and services in the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse. Every dollar raised at the gala will help change the lives of children and families in the community. CARE Night will be an evening of food, drinks, live and silent auctions, entertainment, and an inspirational program.

Section conducts meeting, program in Bloomfield Hills
The Insurance and Indemnity Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will conduct its “Annual Meeting & Educational Program” on Wednesday, October 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Heathers Club, 900 Upper Scotsborough Way in Bloomfield Hills
This program features a presentation on “Preparing, Presenting, and Managing Property Insurance Claims Before Litigation” with speakers Ethan A. Gross, William E. Butler, and Scott Whaley. The panel discussion will be followed by dinner, drinks and an opportunity to network and connect with colleagues.
Section members can attend for $20, non-section members for $40, and law school students can attend for free.

Discussion on court navigator programs continues Nov. 2
During this study hall session, NCSC will offer structured, online technical assistance to attendees of its Oct. 3 Court Navigator School session, “What Do Court Navigator Programs Do: An Overview & Partnerships, Part 1.”
Participants will get advice from national experts, share ideas with colleagues, exchange information, and explore possibilities in jurisdictions in a small group setting.
Participants will be split into two self-selected tracks based on the maturity of their program.
