The State Bar of Michigan’s Labor and Employment Law Section and the Young Lawyers Section are co-hosting a Tee Off & Connect — TopGolf Outing on Tuesday, October 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at TopGolf in Auburn Hills.

PAAM presents ‘Juvenile Competency Review’ online
The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Juvenile Justice &?School Safety Training Project will present the webinar “In the Lunchroom with Juvenile Justice: Juvenile Competency Review” on Thursday, October 16, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
The “In the Lunchroom” presentation series features a mini-session or topic review, followed by an open discussion time. This quarter, the review topic will be juvenile competency.
During this open discussion time, participants can bring their questions and concerns while sharing their knowledge and experience. Questions may be emailed in advance to Karen Field, PAAM’s Juvenile Justice and School Safety Training project director, at fieldk@mipaam.org.
There is no charge to attend but advance registration is required.

SBM schedules ethics seminars in October
The State Bar of Michigan is offering two webinars this month to help Michigan attorneys perform their best.
The Lawyer Trust Accounts presentation will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, October 21.
It will focus on the ethical management of lawyer trust accounts, including the analysis used in processing client or third-party funds and an in-depth focus on record-keeping requirements.

The Tuesday, October 28, Tips and Tools webinar, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will feature presentations on how to maintain client relationships, draft effective fee agreements, analyze ethical issues, and use innovative techniques and technology for effective law office management.
