Conspiracy to commit first degree murder charge added to Dawn Huffman

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido announced Tuesday that his office added a charge of Conspiracy to Commit Homicide – First Degree, a life-without-parole offense, against Dawn Huffman.

This new charge comes in addition to her existing charges of embezzlement of $100,000 or more, a 20-year felony, and conspiracy to commit embezzlement – agent or trustee of $1,000 or more, a 5-year felony.

Her husband, Rachard Huffman, and her husband’s brother, Jasan Martin, had previously been charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, in addition to other charges.

Dawn Huffman, formerly the office manager for Jawad Investments, is accused of embezzling more than $100,000 from the company business.

Prosecutors allege that she, along with Rachard Huffman and Jasan Martin, conspired to silence the company’s owner, Eddie Jawad, after he noticed unusual activity on a business credit card.

It is alleged that on Oct. 14, 2025, Martin hid under a vehicle in Jawad’s driveway and fired multiple gunshots as Jawad drove past.

The Preliminary Exam for Jasan Martin, Rachard Huffman and Dawn Huffman is scheduled before Judge Stephen S. Sierawski in the 41A District Court in Shelby Township on Thursday, Dec. 11.
