Groups compete to help charities
The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan-Macomb Region and the Italian American Bar Association of Michigan are among the groups taking part in the challenge.
Each partner bar association is representing a charity. Attendees will vote for their favorite bar association by donating cash “tips” to the association’s “tip jar” of their choice. All tips will go to the charities selected by each respective bar association.
The group that receives the most tips wins the challenge and receive an additional donation to its charity. All net proceeds from the event will also be split between all of the charities.
Tickets cost $60 for members of any partner organization, $85 for non-members, and $30 for law students.

Prosecutor plans crime victims event
The symposium will take place on Friday, April 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Clemens Public Library.
Organizers say the event will provide crime survivors and community members with practical information about victims’ rights, the criminal justice process, and the wide range of services available to those affected by crime.
The symposium is free and open to all and intended to serve both survivors and those who support them.
“Crime survivors often face overwhelming challenges during an already difficult time,” said Prosecutor Peter Lucido. “This symposium is about providing clarity, access, and hope — helping survivors understand the court system while connecting them to resources that promote healing and resilience.”
