Environmental regulations explored
at WSU Law 


Wayne State University Law School will present “Environmental Regulation: Constitutional Limits and Real-World Impacts” on Tuesday, March 24, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. at the law school in Detroit.

The Federalist Society and the Environmental Law Club offer a moderated discussion on the scope of modern environmental regulation and its constitutional and statutory foundations. 

This program will examine whether contemporary environmental laws and regulatory programs operate within constitutional and statutory limits, and how those regulations affect property owners, regulated entities, and state and local governments in practice.

MJI discusses ballot access litigation


The Michigan Judicial Institute will present a “Presiding Over Ballot Access Litigation Webinar” online Wednesday, April 8, from noon to 1 p.m.

This webinar will provide an overview of trends and legal challenges in ballot access litigation with a focus on common case types, election timeline concerns, and complexities driving modern ballot access disputes.

State Bar schedules Brunch for Bars


The State Bar of Michigan will host its annual Brunch for Bars at Fort Pontchartrain Hotel in Detroit at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, the morning after the Wolverine Bar Association’s Barristers’ Ball. 

The event brings together attorneys and other members of Michigan’s legal community to promote networking, camaraderie, and shared goals.

This year’s event will also include a collaborative discussion on legal deserts throughout the state.

Business law seminar planned in Troy


A Business Law Section Seminar featuring 10 business court judges will take place on Thursday, May 7 from 3:30-7:30 p.m., at the Troy Marriott.  

Topics include Litigating in the Business Courts, Drafting Governance Documents, Employment Law, Artificial Intelligence, and Internal Investigations.
