Virtual MiFILE training opportunity scheduled for May 5
The State Court Administrative Office’s Judicial Information Services has announced that a virtual training session on the e-filing system MiFILE will take place via Zoom from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5.
MiFILE, which is powered by TrueFiling, is designed to “transform the court experience by improving access, providing greater flexibility for litigants, and enhancing overall efficiency in case management.” The program supports 125 trial courts across the state.
This is a training opportunity for filers and is open to anyone using MiFILE for District, Circuit, and Probate Courts, including attorneys, legal assistants, self-represented litigants, and legal self-help center staff. Training only applies to trial court filings and does not cover appellate court filings.

Law school presents 4th Annual Baiardi Endowed Lectureship April 9
Wayne State University Law School will present “4th Annual Baiardi Endowed Lectureship in Corporate Law” on Thursday, April 9, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. at Wayne Law’s Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer Ave. in Detroit.
The lecture will feature Jeremy McClane, professor of Law, George Washington University who will be presenting “Relational Lawyering in the Age of AI.”

Association to host judicial reception
In late April, the full Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals will be sitting in Detroit. To mark the occasion, the Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association (EDMIBAR) is hosting a special reception on Wednesday, April 29, bringing together all Sixth Circuit judges, Eastern District of Michigan judges, and members and guests.
The reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Sala Ballroom of the Cambria Hotel, 600 W. Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit.
