Butzel attorney Beth S. Gotthelf has been elected to
the Alpena Power Resources Ltd. Board of Directors. Alpena Power
Resources is the parent company to the Alpena Power Company. Alpena
Power is a 145-year-old company that is an environmentally responsible
energy management and distribution company. Alpena Power serves
approximately 17,000 customers in the northeast corner of Michigan’s
Lower Peninsula.
Gotthelf is Butzel’s director of Innovation and External Relations, co-chair of the Energy & Sustainability Practice, and chair of the Aerospace & Defense Industry Team.
She represents a diverse client base including those in the automotive, defense, and aerospace fields. She has environmental, renewable energy, and sustainability experience.
She assists clients with remediation, redevelopment, permitting, and compliance.
Gotthelf serves as chair of the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s Environmental Policy Committee; board member, NAATBatt, the National Battery Association; general counsel to the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Surface Finishers; board member and former chair, Michigan Israel Business Accelerator; and Michigan Advisory Board,

Doddamani is a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan and former head of Hate Crimes & Domestic Terrorism Unit at the Michigan Department of Attorney General. She has more than 20 years of trial litigation experience and previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in both Macomb and Wayne counties.
At Miller Johnson, Doddamani will work closely with high-profile litigators and former government leaders from the United States Department of Justice and Michigan Department of Attorney General to deliver practical, strategic counsel grounded in real-world experience to organizations facing complex legal challenges.
She joins the firm’s Government Compliance and White Collar practices, representing clients facing potential criminal, civil, and regulatory exposure, including matters involving corporate misconduct and compliance, employment-related investigations, health care providers, school districts, universities, and local governments.
Miller Johnson is also proud to welcome Lino Taormina to itsDetroit office as a counsel attorney in the Med Recovery practice group. Taormina has experience representing insurance carriers across a broad spectrum of litigation matters, providing deep insight into coverage issues, defenses, and claim valuation.
Taormina’s practice focuses on medical revenue recovery and insurance reimbursement disputes for healthcare providers. He works with hospitals, health systems, physician groups, and other medical providers to pursue effective recovery strategies while navigating complex insurance and liability issues. He handles matters from initial claim assessment through resolution, advising clients on coverage analysis, valuation, and strategic approaches to maximize reimbursement.
Prior to joining Miller Johnson, Taormina represented a range of insurance carriers, overseeing matters from initial evaluation through final resolution.
Taormina earned his law degree from The University of Toledo College of Law in 2019 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from Adrian College.
