Macomb County authorities have announced that Daniel Waldrep, 30, of Roseville, was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court following a preliminary examination last week
The exam was held before Roseville District Court Judge Joseph F. Boedeker in the 39th District Court.
Boedeker bound Waldrep over on all original charges and added six additional felony charges.
“Cases involving violence against law enforcement officers and the public will be aggressively prosecuted,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.
Waldrep is charged with the following offenses:
Four Counts: Assault with Intent to Murder, a felony punishable by any term of years up to life
One Count: Weapons – Firearms – Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
One Count: Weapons – Ammunition – Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
One Count: Attempted Peace Officer – Disarming Firearm, a 10-year felony
One Count: Police Officer – Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, a 2-year felony
One Count: Domestic Violence – Third Offense, a 5-year felony
Six Counts: Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, each carrying a consecutive term to the underlying felony.
The additional charges added following the Preliminary Examination include:
Four Counts: Police Officer – Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, a 2-year felony
One Count: Weapons – Firearms – Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
One Count: Weapons – Ammunition – Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony.
The charges against Waldrep stem from an incident on January 23, 2026, when Waldrep allegedly forced entry into his home while intoxicated and armed, injuring his wife.
He then allegedly barricaded himself inside the residence and fired a high-powered rifle at responding officers, striking a patrol vehicle and wounding an officer.
