Jon Villasurda Sr., 62, of Clinton Township, pled guilty last week to one count of Transporting a Person for Prostitution in connection with an international human trafficking ring involving commercial sex at illicit massage parlors in metro Detroit, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Villasurda Sr. was charged in December 2024 with one count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise, one count of Conspiracy to Conduct a Criminal Enterprise, and one count of Transporting a Person for Prostitution following an investigation into the ring involving multiple local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, the Michigan State Police, and the St. Clair Shores Police Department.
Villasurda Sr. co-defendants Huazi Piao and Jingyu Jin recently pled to one count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise for their role in operating the human trafficking ring in Detroit, Highland Park, St. Clair Shores, and Sterling Heights.
“Transporting vulnerable individuals to be trafficked is a heinous crime, and I applaud the prosecutors in my office for securing this conviction,” said Nessel. “This enterprise, one of the largest human trafficking rings ever uncovered in our state, profited from the forced commercial sex servitude of victims right here in our communities, moving them through illicit parlors, airports, casinos, and residences. Together with our law enforcement partners, we have liberated numerous women, and we remain committed to pursuing traffickers and supporting survivors.”
Villasurda Sr. will be sentenced by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Faunce on Sept. 10.
