‘Why Women Lawyers Must Tell Their Stories’ discussed online

The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan will present “She Was Here: Why Women Lawyers Must Tell Their Stories” online Thursday, September 10, beginning at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.

WLAM President Kirsten Silwanowicz and University of Michigan Law School Clinical Professor Beth Wilensky will discuss the power of storytelling and the importance of preserving women lawyers’ experiences.

Together, they will explore how to identify the stories worth telling, transform experiences into meaningful narratives, navigate vulnerability and difficult stories, and move beyond the résumé to capture the moments that truly shape our lives and careers.

‘Immigration Speed Dating’ presented online Sept. 24

The Oakland County Bar Association will present the webinar “Immigration Speed Dating” on Thursday, September 24, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

This professional development webinar will explore the critical connections between immigration law and related practice areas including criminal, family, and employment law in this timely seminar. Attendees will gain practical insights from experienced legal professionals as they discuss emerging issues, real-world implications, and strategies for navigating complex cross-disciplinary matters. 

Speaking at the webinar will be Suzanne Sukkar of Dickinson Wright PLLC, Abril Valdes Siewert of The Siewert Law Firm, and Zainab M. Boxwala, CEO of Questyme USA Inc.

Health Care Law Section conducts annual meeting 

The State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law Section will conduct its annual meeting on Thursday, September 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Andiamo, 6676 Telegraph Road.

Health Care Law Section Chair Eric Klein, of Dykema, will lead the Business Meeting.  Speaking  on the topic of “The New Super-Soldier in the Global Trade War is in Your Healthcare Supply Chain” will be Julie Janeway and Erica Powell Bell.
