Society plans 31st Annual Golf Outing 


The Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers will host thw 31st Annual Golf Outing Scramble/12th Annual Challenge Cup Against Irish Network Detroit on Thursday, September 24, at Sanctuary Lake Golf Course, 1450 South Boulevard in Troy.

Registration begins at noon and tee times start at 1 p.m.  The outing will feature 18 Holes with golf cart; access to driving range; hot dog lunch; two drink tickets and cash bar; prize for winning team, longest drive, closest to pin; taco bar dinner with salad and desserts.

ACC?presents ‘Direction with Intention: Recalibrating Your Path’ Sept. 24


The Association of Corporate Counsel, Michigan Chapter, will present “Direction with Intention: Recalibrating Your Path” sponsored by Latitude Legal on Thursday, September 24, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Traverse City Whiskey Co., upper floor event space, 22812 Woodward Ave. in Ferndale.

Guests will enjoy cocktails, wine and mocktails from Traverse City Whiskey Co., along with pizza and salads from Como’s.  At 5:30 p.m., Jay Harrington, who leads Latitude’s Michigan office, and artist Heather Harrington will lead a 30-minute session designed to help attendees step back from the demands of the day-to-day and think more intentionally about where they want to go next—in their careers and lives.

Following a brief presentation about vision and goals, attendees will identify a word or short phrase that represents what they want to keep in focus. Harrington will then guide attendees in creating a personalized reminder to display on their desk and keep that intention front and center.

Symposium looks at ‘Oligarchy and the Rule of Law’ 


Wayne State University will present the Wayne Law Review symposium on “Oligarchy and the Rule of Law: Examining the Intersection of Power, Wealth, and Justice” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 25, in Wayne Law’s Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer Ave. in Detroit.
