Oakland County has changed its address. Its website address, that is. Users can now find the county at OaklandCountyMI.gov. Meanwhile, county email addresses have transitioned to the format of Username@OaklandCountyMI.gov. The usernames themselves remain the same as in the previous email addresses and messages sent to old email addresses will automatically be redirected. 

The move to .gov enhances security by making it easier for the public to recognize the official Oakland County website, as .gov domains are reserved for verified U.S. government organizations. 

Most residents, organizations and other users should: 

• Update saved Oakland County email addresses in their contact lists.

• Ensure the new OaklandCountyMI.gov?domain is allowed in your email systems.

• Update systems and records that reference the former OakGov.com if you regularly communicate with Oakland County.

• Update automated systems that send information to Oakland County email addresses.
