Conference helps court leaders navigate a rapidly evolving technology landscape Dec. 7

Technology is reshaping how courts operate, how they serve the public, and how they manage an increasingly complex justice system. Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity threats, online dispute resolution, and cloud migration are no longer emerging issues. They are present challenges courts must address.

These and other challenges are on the agenda at eCourts 2026 in December, the only court technology conference this year.

For court leaders, the question is no longer whether technology will transform court operations, but whether their courts will be ready when it does.

Keynote speaker Jay Kiew opens the conference on the morning of December 7 with a session designed to challenge how court leaders think about change. Kiew is an innovation strategist, bestselling author, and CEO at Citizencentric, with more than 15 years of transformation experience helping organizations navigate disruption. In 2024, the Project Management Institute named him a Future50 honoree for his work enabling organizations with AI fluency and adoption.

Kiew will share what separates organizations that thrive through change from those that struggle under its weight, offering practical tools court leaders can put to work.

New this year, interactive, hands-on workshops allow attendees to practice skills and work through real scenarios, from strengthening court-vendor partnerships to building cybersecurity resilience on the front lines.

Special interest groups also offer dedicated time for cross-functional teams to brainstorm and collaborate away from the demands of the office.

“ECourts is built for collaboration and connection,” said Rachel Buck, a National Center for State Courts (NCSC) senior court management consultant and conference education lead. “The smaller conference size, single-stage format, and new hands-on sessions make it easy to connect with peers, share ideas, and leave with practical strategies you can actually use.”

Other conference highlights include a sold-out exhibit hall featuring more than 70 vendors representing a broad range of court technology solutions supporting access to justice, appellate court technology, case management, electronic filing, and integration software. Explore the exhibit hall layout to see who will be at eCourts 2026.

A signature NCSC conference, eCourts advances Strategic Agenda priorities that support fair and impartial courts and use technology to advance innovative solutions by developing strong educational programming for court leadership, managers, judges, and staff, and building the professional expertise needed to meet public expectations.
