Warda’s preliminary exam was held Friday before Judge Joseph Craigen Oster in the 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores.
At the conclusion of the exam, Oster bound Warda over on the original charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
On the motion of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kelsey Heath, Oster also bound Warda over on an additional charge of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
“The courage it takes for a victim of sexual assault to come forward and participate in the legal process should never be underestimated. My office remains committed to pursuing justice for victims and ensuring that those charged with crimes are held accountable through the legal process,” Lucido said.
Warda will be arraigned before Judge Jennifer M. Faunce of the Macomb County Circuit Court on Nov. 9.
